A large figure of a lady taking her dog for a walk made by Rosenthal in 1946 right after WWII. The figurine was designed by the famous Gustav Oppel and is of a well to do lady wearing her fancy dress and hat while giving her Russian Wolfhound / Borzoi his daily walk. A very elegant figurine and in perfect condition.
The piece is superbly modeled and hand painted to perfection. The piece is marked underneath with the green Rosenthal mark with GERMANY , Kunstabteilung Selb and US-Zone underneath as shown in the pictures. It also stated handgemalt with the artist initials under it in red and has the artists initials impressed on top of the base as shown.The model number 1553 is impressed underneath as well! The figurine is about 10.75 inches tall and the base is 7 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep.
