Rare Vintage Solid Cast Iron and Brass Setter/Retriever Dog Two Piece Doorstop
Extremely unusual and rare two piece doorstop that most likely was manufactured in the 1800s in England. The back/bottom base is cast iron. The two pieces are bolted together in the back. Stems are tight with absolutely no wiggle. The piece weighs 6.76 lbs and measures approximately 5"H x 6.5"L. There is a missing piece on the back of the dog (not visible when displayed at or slightly above eye level) - see photo. This piece was likely a Porter with a long handle to carry the doorstop from room to room. At some point the handle broke off but it does not diminish the uniqueness of the piece.
